Information Technology/Forensic Analyst
The New York County District Attorney’s Office seeks experienced Computer Forensic analysts. The Senior or Forensic analyst will be responsible for maintaining detailed written work logs and case documentation following Forensic procedures, executing search warrants for electronic evidence, disassembling, configuring and troubleshooting computer hardware, including cell phones and PDAs, testifying in Grand Jury and trials, and interacting with law enforcement personnel and agencies;
Bachelor’s degree in information management or computer science preferred. Candidate must have knowledge of Computer Forensic Industry standards and software, excellent technical skills and documented hands on experience with all type of computer hardware and operating systems. Excellent communication skills, both orally and in written form required. Valid driver’s license required.

Forensic Accountant
Perform highly complex professional financial analyses and audits of financial records pertaining to alleged criminal activity. Independently gather and analyze complex financial data, verifying the accuracy of financial records. Perform investigative research and present results in the form of oral presentation and grand jury testimony. Conduct forensic analyses to determine whether or not an offense has occurred, the methodology used to commit the offense, and the total financial loss to the victim. Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting required. A minimum of seven years of professional level financial analysis or accounting experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2000 a plus. Superior organizational and communication skills are essential. Ability to work independently.
Investigative Personnel
Investigators investigate a variety of crimes including organized crime, drug trafficking, political corruption, white collar, and fraud cases. Investigators perform surveillance and undercover work, conduct interviews, execute warrants, and make arrests. They also conduct background investigations on all employees of the District Attorney's Office.
Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree and two years of law enforcement experience or a satisfactory equivalent.
Paralegals
Paralegals assist Assistant District Attorneys in all aspects of investigations, trials, and appellate litigation. Paralegals compile and analyze case documents for hearings and trials; coordinate case schedules with courts, law enforcement officials, witnesses and defense attorneys. They also draft correspondence and legal documents for Assistant District Attorneys; proofread and cite check; and prepare court calendars. In addition to the above, paralegals assigned to the Appeals Bureau are responsible for writing at least one Excessive Sentence Brief a term. The salary is $36,084. We also offer an excellent vacation and benefits package.
The successful paralegal applicant does not fit a particular profile, except that most are recent college graduates. The DA’s Office receives applications from a diversity of backgrounds and work experiences. The Office is seeking individuals who have demonstrated strong academic performance and possess superior organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Personal character, integrity, judgment, and maturity are essential. Fluency in foreign languages, particularly Spanish, is helpful though not necessary.

Secretaries
Duties include: greeting visitors; screening phone calls and taking messages; preparation of legal documents and related correspondence; filing; scheduling meetings; data entry, typing, and other clerical duties, as assigned.
High school degree or GED required. Must have knowledge of Word; knowledge of Excel and other PC applications a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills are a must. Must be detail oriented, well organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
Social Workers/Counselors
Responsibilities include: long- and short-term counseling; crisis intervention; advocacy and referral; and victim notification of court procedures.
Bachelor's Degree required; an advanced degree preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Spanish-speaking preferred.
Current Law School Students
The Office seeks law school students to work in its Complaint Room Complex. The position focuses on drafting misdemeanor Criminal Court complaints. Students will interview the police officer who made the arrest and work with the District Attorney and Police Department personnel to assemble the requisite complaint paperwork.
Full-time positions available for day shifts. Part-time positions available for evening hours. Both full-time and part-time positions require flexibility to work weekends and holidays. Computer literacy, knowledge of Microsoft Word and demonstrated organizational and communication abilities are required. Familiarity with court procedures and the District Attorney's Office is a plus.
The salary for a part-time position is $22.78 an hour and $41,619 for a full-time position, vacation time and other New York City employee benefits are pro-rated on the basis of hours worked.
Custodial / Maintenance Staff
Duties include: general office cleaning; installation of office equipment, bulletin boards, and fans; painting, plastering and taping work; general demolition and cleanup tasks; and installation/removal of outlets, light bulbs, and communications cable.
High School Degree or GED required. Prior experience in one or more of the above areas preferred. Ability to work flexible shifts required.
