Administration
Administrative Services--which is comprised of the Personnel Department, Payroll Services Unit, and Operations--is responsible for coordinating the delivery of the office's administrative services.
The Personnel Department is responsible for administering and overseeing the hiring and employment practices of the office and assists with the various benefit programs offered by the City of New York.
The Payroll Services Unit maintains all employee time-keeping records, payroll and tax information, and information about employee salary and leave status. It is responsible for entering that information into the city-wide Personnel Management System, which issues all employee checks.
Operations is responsible for a wide range of administrative services including the daily management of the office's physical plant. Operations is comprised of the following units:
Custodial Services - responsible for general cleaning of offices and public areas
Maintenance Unit - responsible for general maintenance
Records Management Unit - responsible for storing records, reproductions, and scanning documents
Communication Unit - responsible for telephone, voicemail, mail, and messenger services
Construction Management - responsible for renovations and other construction projects
Purchasing Unit - responsible for purchasing goods and services for the office
Facilities Design - responsible for office design and furniture standards
