Renato Seabra Sentenced to 25 Years-to-Life for Murder of Carlos Castro
On December 21, 2012, Renato Seabra was sentenced to 25 years-to-life in state prison for the 2011 murder of Carlos Castro in a Times Square hotel room. On November 30, 2012, Seabra was found guilty by a jury of Murder in the Second Degree for violently assaulting his victim after becoming enraged and angry that the victim wished to end their relationship. On January 7, 2011, a hotel employee discovered the victim unclothed and mutilated on the floor. Emergency medical personnel at the scene pronounced the victim dead with blunt injuries to the head and neck compression.
