“Alejandro Piedra escalated to deadly violence when he brutally stabbed three individuals in a busy neighborhood in the span of minutes,” said District Attorney Bragg. “As a result of this horrific conduct, Clemson Cockfield’s life was tragically taken, and Mr. Cockfield’s wife was seriously injured. I hope their family and loved ones can take comfort knowing there is accountability in this matter.”

“As alleged, Frederick Green fired two shots outside of a restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, nearly turning a physical altercation into a fatal one,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Gun violence has no place in Manhattan. My thoughts are with the victim who continues to heal from this near-fatal shooting.”

“Older New Yorkers trusted Jerona Smith to deliver quality care as a home health aide. Instead, she used her access to steal their hard-earned money,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Jerona Smith was sentenced to incarceration for preying on the perceived vulnerability of her clients.
