“Michael Chase and Jose Colon allegedly used the dark web to sell dangerous drugs in exchange for cryptocurrency, before moving the funds into fictitious business accounts. They allegedly shipped drugs to all fifty states, jeopardizing the health and safety of individuals across the country,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I want to thank our partners at USPIS and the Suffolk County D.A.’s Office for their partnership in this investigation.”

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg secured an indictment of a 26-year-old man on hate crime charges. The prosecution is moving forward after a years-long gap between Tavaughn Thompson, a Bronx resident, allegedly beating a man while hurling anti-gay slurs at a Harlem subway station, and his arrest earlier this year.

Tavaughn Thompson, 26, faces two counts of third-degree assault as a hate crime and one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree in connection with the Dec. 29, 2023, attack at the 125th Street subway station in West Harlem, prosecutors said.
