William, Thomas Felcon plead guilty in pandemic loan program fraud, DA Bragg says
A Manhasset Hills man and his nephew have pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration pandemic relief programs, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg said. William Felcon, 66, pleaded guilty on Thursday to second-degree grand larceny and will be sentenced on July 25 to 50 hours of community service, Bragg’s office said. He will forfeit $175,000 seized from corporate accounts he controlled, as well as $36,000 out of pocket to cover money owed to the SBA. Felcon’s nephew, 42-year-old Thomas A. Felcon of Howard Beach, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to second-degree attempted grand larceny and will be sentenced to six months in jail in August, Bragg’s office said.

A 36-year-old man from Queens that forced several girls into selling their bodies for his clients in 2020 was sentenced to 18 years in prison, prosecutors said. Curtis Hamlet, from Jamaica, was sentenced to prison after forcing three 17-year-old girls into prostitution and exploiting eight other women between New York and Miami in the first three months of 2020, said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg. Hamlet recruited a 17-year-old girl for prostitution using social media in January 2020, housing her in Manhattan while he sold her body to various clients through March 2020, Bragg said.
N.Y.P.D. Officers Charged in Champagne Theft at Electric Zoo Festival
Three New York City police detectives were charged on Monday in the theft of nearly $3,000 worth of Champagne from a V.I.P. area at a popular electronic dance music festival where they had been assigned to stop drug-related activity. Two of the three, Jonathan Gonzalez and Wojciech Czech, are accused of stealing pricey bottles of “Ace of Spades” Champagne at the Electric Zoo festival on Randall’s Island last fall, according to court documents. The third, Warren Golden, is accused of failing to stop them. “Public confidence in the criminal justice system depends on members of law enforcement acting with the utmost integrity while on duty and following the same rules that apply to everyone else,” Alvin L. Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney, said in a statement.
Ex-NYPD detectives indicted for stealing nearly $3K in booze from VIPs at Electric Zoo music festival
Three ex-NYPD detectives have been indicted for their alleged roles in the theft of just under $3,000 in pricey champagne from VIP guests at the Electric Zoo music festival, Manhattan prosecutors announced Monday. Then-detectives Warren Golden, 31, Jonathan Gonzalez, 33, and Wojciech Czech, 44, were at the event on Randall’s Island on Sept. 3, 2022 for narcotics enforcement when Gonzalez allegedly put two unopened bottles of Ace of Spades champagne into a backpack, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. Several bottles of the bubbly — which goes for roughly $1,500 a pop — were sitting in an ice bucket on a table in the VIP area at around 7 p.m. that night.

Three NYPD narcotics detectives were charged Monday for sneaking into the VIP section of the Electric Zoo concert on Randalls Island last year and trying to swipe two bottles of $1,500 Ace of Spades, a pricey champagne brand owned by Jay Z, according to the Manhattan district attorney’s office. Dets. Jonathan Gonzalez, 33 and Wojciech Czech, 44, were each charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, according to the indictment. Gonzalez and Det. Warren Golden, 31, were charged with official misconduct. The three cops were on duty on Sept. 3 at the concert around 7 p.m. when they slipped backstage to the VIP section, according to the indictment.
