Man indicted for fleeing Manhattan car crash that injured 20, including 11-year-old who needed leg amputated
A New Jersey man was indicted for fleeing an Inwood car crash that injured 20 people in January, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday. Jonathan Valentin, a 26-year-old from Maywood, was allegedly driving with a revoked license when he caused the devastating crash. While pulling out of a gas station, Valentin slammed into an Uber car on Broadway just north of 204th Street around 9 p.m. on Jan. 2, according to officials. The impact sent the Uber careening into a crowded restaurant, injuring 20 people, authorities said. Among the victims were an 11-year-old girl who needed her leg amputated due to her injuries and an one-year-old baby who suffered a broken foot.
