D.A. Bragg Announces Indictment Of Salon 1884 For Worker Exploitation, Wage Theft
“As alleged, Andrea Marshall, the owner of Salon 1884, exploited and stole approximately $54,000 in wages from her employees while selling luxury garments. She preyed on the significant power imbalance of her employees who relied on the promised wages for housing and basic living expenses, feared retaliation, and lacked the financial resources to pursue legal recourse,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Hard working New Yorkers deserve every dollar they earn. This is an ongoing investigation – please call or message our Worker Protection Unit at (646) 712-0298 if you may be a victim, regardless of your immigration status.”

D.A. Bragg: Former NYPD Officer Pleads Guilty To Having Sex With Woman He Arrested, Sending Inappropriate Messages To Crime Victims
“The defendant’s disturbing conduct is unacceptable for a member of law enforcement,” said District Attorney Bragg. “In addition to sending extremely inappropriate messages to victims while he was investigating their cases, he abused his power to engage in a sexual encounter with a woman he had arrested just hours earlier. This is not how anyone should be treated – whether a victim, witness, or person accused of a crime. This behavior significantly damages faith in the criminal justice system and discourages people from coming forward to report crimes, which harms public safety.”
