Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., today announced the guilty plea of KURAN BROWN-WILSON, 21, for his role in the fatal shooting of his friend Dominick Allen, 17, in East Harlem in January 2023. BROWN-WILSON pleaded guilty in New York State Supreme Court to Manslaughter in the First Degree, Conspiracy in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. He pleaded guilty on April 21, 2026. Under the terms of his plea, he is expected to be sentenced to a promised term of 22 years in state prison on June 2, 2026.
The fatal shooting was part of conspiracies to kill rivals and to acquire and use firearms to commit shootings and robberies. BROWN-WILSON is the final of three defendants convicted in Allen’s death.
“Kuran Brown-Wilson engaged in a deadly conspiracy that ended Dominick Allen’s young life,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Acting in concert with his co-defendants, Brown-Wilson carried out senseless gun violence that jeopardized the safety of multiple New Yorkers and underscores the harm caused by illegal firearms in our communities. Shootings are down nearly 70% in Manhattan since I took office, and we remain committed to working with our public safety partners to hold those responsible for gun violence accountable while continuing to drive down this violence.”
QUADIAR DIGGINS, 20, and NYRIEL WILLIAMS, 20, were both sentenced to state prison terms after pleading guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree and Conspiracy in the Second Degree, among other charges, for their roles in Allen’s death and the murder conspiracy. TYRONE BURGESS, 24, who was charged in the weapons conspiracy, was sentenced to a state prison term after pleading guilty to Attempted Robbery in the First Degree and Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree.
According to court documents and statements made on the record in court, and as admitted in the defendants’ guilty pleas from January 28 to January 29, 2023, the defendants committed one gunpoint robbery and three shootings, including the shooting that resulted in Dominick Allen’s death. In total, the conspiracy involved the use of approximately 7 guns, with over 40 shots fired at 8 victims across 4 shootings. Two victims were struck across the shootings, including Dominick Allen, who was present at three of the shootings.
On January 28, 2023, at approximately 11:00 p.m., DIGGINS, WILLIAMS and another individual robbed a delivery driver in the Bronx as WILLIAMS held him at gunpoint. The defendants fled the scene in the victim’s stolen car and drove into Manhattan. Throughout the night, they stole license plates off parked cars and swapped them onto the stolen car.
On January 29, 2023, at approximately 3:00 a.m., WILLIAMS, DIGGINS, Allen and another individual traveled near West 145th Street and Broadway, in the Sugar Hill area. While in the area, Allen and the other individual acted in concert to fire nearly 20 gunshots towards a group of individuals.
At approximately 4:23 a.m., DIGGINS, WILLIAMS and another individual drove to the New York City Housing Authority’s Saint Nicholas Houses. The defendants acted in concert to chase and fire at least 11 gunshots towards an intended target, who was standing on the street.
At approximately 5:00 p.m., DIGGINS, WILLIAMS, BROWN-WILSON, and Allen traveled to the vicinity of NYCHA’s Wilson Houses, looking for rivals. The defendants acted in concert to fire multiple shots into a crowded residential lobby. During the gunfire, Allen was struck in the back and killed. Shortly after, the defendants bypassed a hospital, due to police presence, to drop off Allen’s body at Harlem Hospital before fleeing.
As alleged, in furtherance of the murder conspiracy, the defendants communicated through phone messages about acquiring and possessing guns. They also discussed identifying victims to set up in gunpoint robberies. In one instance, on June 9, 2023, BURGESS acted in concert with other individuals to attempt to commit a gunpoint robbery, in which a 28-year-old victim was struck.
On June 10, 2023, a search warrant was executed at BROWN-WILSON’s home and officers recovered three loaded firearms. The indictment against the other individual remains open and pending. [1]
