Lisa DelPizzo Appointed Chief of the Trial Division

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Jr., today announced the appointment of Lisa DelPizzo as Chief of the Trial Division. Most recently Chief of Trial Bureau 30, Lisa has worked at the highest levels of the Trial Division at the Manhattan D.A.’s office for nearly two decades. D.A. Bragg also announced the appointment of Erin Tierney to serve as Chief of Trial Bureau 30, where she currently serves as Deputy Chief.

As head of the Trial Division, Lisa will oversee the Office’s six Trial Bureaus as well as specialized units including Violent Criminal Enterprises, Crime Strategies, Hate Crimes, and more. Today’s appointments follow the announcement of a new Special Victims Division, to be led by Joyce Smith, who has served as head of the Trial Division for the past six months.

“I already have started to rely on Lisa’s wise counsel, and I am confident that Lisa is the right person to lead the Trial Division going forward,” said District Attorney Bragg. “A fierce advocate for ADAs, Lisa has great judgment, is an excellent manager, and is a respected advisor on complicated cases. I know that Trial Bureau 30 is in great hands with Erin Tierney, known for her dedication and ‘lead by example’ management style. I thank them both for taking on these important roles, and look forward to the work we will do together to achieve safety and fairness.”
