Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., today announced the prison sentence of HASSON VICTORIA, 45, to eight years in state prison for attacking three men in approximately 10 minutes with a pair of scissors in the West Village in a series of unprovoked attacks. VICTORIA pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree on March 27, 2025.
“This defendant is now facing accountability for this random assault on three strangers,” said District Attorney Bragg. “In addition to the harm caused to victims, these instances of random violence impact the psyche of our entire borough. The public should know that we are continuing to focus on accountability when this type of conduct occurs.”
As admitted in the defendant’s guilty plea, on July 27, 2023, at approximately 9:20 a.m., VICTORIA attempted to stab a 28-year-old man with a pair of scissors near Hudson and Charlton Streets. Approximately five minutes later, VICTORIA walked a few blocks away and lunged at a 24-year-old man with the same pair of scissors multiple times, aiming at his chest. The man was struck twice in his right arm, causing bleeding. VICTORIA then walked towards Bleecker Street and Eighth Avenue where he used the scissors to stab a 45-year-old man in the neck, causing bleeding.
VICTORIA was arrested a few minutes later at West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue. Officers recovered the scissors from his waistband.
