April 30, 2025

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., today announced the indictment of ANTHONY ALBERTORIO, 38, for allegedly walking into a laundromat and sexually abusing an employee in February 2025. ALBERTORIO is charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment with one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree; one count of Burglary in the Third Degree; one count of Forcible Touching; and one count of Sexual Abuse. “This alleged abuse is extremely disturbing and no employee should have to endure this at their place of work,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Our thorough investigation has led to upgraded charges against this defendant, as he is now charged with two serious felonies, demonstrating how abhorrent the allegations are and how seriously we are taking this matter.”
According to court documents and statements made on the record, on February 19, 2025, at approximately 7:55 p.m., ALBERTORIO walked into a laundromat in Inwood and abruptly approached the 41-year-old employee. He backed her into a corner, grabbed her by the hair and shoulders, and kissed the woman’s face as she struggled to push him off and get away from him.

A bystander witnessed the incident and ALBERTORIO ran out of the laundromat. He was arrested 9 days later.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant. D.A. Meghan McLoughlin, under the supervision of Assistant D.A. Bethany Spiro (Deputy Bureau Chief in the Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Bureau) and Executive Assistant D.A. Justin McNabney (Chief of the Special Victims Division). Investigative Analyst Rory Fleming is also assisting with the case.

D.A. Bragg thanked Investigator Steven Echevarria of the 34th precinct Detective Squad.
