D.A. Bragg & NYPD Commiss. Caban Announce Indictment in Murder and Robbery Conspiracies

September 26, 2023

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., and New York City Police Commissioner Edward A. Caban today announced the indictment of KURAN BROWN-WILSON, a/k/a “Dot,” a/k/a “KDot,” 19; QUADIR DIGGINS, a/k/a “QD,” 17; RANDY KING, a/k/a “Trey Burke,” 22; and NYRIEL WILLIAMS, a/k/a “Pudd,” 17; for conspiring to kill others and to acquire, possess and use firearms to commit multiple shootings and robberies.

DIGGINS, WILLIAMS and BROWN-WILSON are charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment with two counts of Murder in the Second Degree for the death of their 17-year-old friend Dominick Allen, among other charges. KING is charged with two counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, among other charges. TYRONE BURGESS, a/k/a “Getem,” 21, is charged with two counts of Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree, among other charges, for joining the conspiracy to acquire, possess and use firearms to commit robberies. “The tragedy of gun violence is manifold when young New Yorkers are accused of shooting at and killing other New Yorkers – in this case, their own friend,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Allegations like these are some of the most serious I can imagine, and our prosecutors are treating this case with the sober care it deserves. We will hold accountable those who use gun violence to destroy our communities.”

“Today’s charges reflect the dedicated efforts of the NYPD’s Gun Violence Suppression Division and our many precinct- and borough-based investigators, who are sharply focused on the drivers of crime and violence in New York City,” said NYPD Commissioner Edward A. Caban. “We are relentless in this mission because New Yorkers want and deserve to live in a city free from the threat of gun violence. I commend our officers and everyone from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office involved in prosecuting this important case.”

According to court documents and statements made on the record in court, from January 28 to January 29, 2023, the defendants committed one gunpoint robbery and three shootings, including the shooting that resulted in Dominick Allen’s death. In total, the conspiracy involved the use of approximately 7 guns, with over 40 shots fired at 8 victims across 4 shootings. Two victims were struck, including Dominick Allen, who was present at three of the shootings.

On January 28, 2023, at approximately 11:00 p.m., DIGGINS, WILLIAMS and KING robbed a delivery driver at gunpoint in the Bronx. They fled the scene in his stolen car and drove into Manhattan. Throughout the day, they stole license plates off parked cars and swapped them onto the stolen car.

On January 29, at approximately 3:00 a.m., KING, WILLIAMS, DIGGINS and Allen fired at least 20 gunshots at three other people near 144th Street in Sugar Hill. Approximately a half hour later, they stole a license plate from a car and drove to NYCHA’s King Towers. At approximately 4:23 a.m., the defendants chased and fired at least 11 gunshots towards an intended target.

About twelve hours later, at approximately 5:00 p.m., DIGGINS, WILLIAMS, BROWN-WILLIAMS and Allen drove to NYCHA’s Wilson Houses and shot multiple times into a crowded lobby. During the gunfire, Allen was struck in the back by one of the defendants and killed.

Over the next several months, the defendants communicated through phone messages about acquiring new guns, including sending photos of themselves brandishing guns. They also discussed identifying victims to set up in gunpoint robberies.

In one instance, on June 9, 2023, BURGESS and BROWN-WILSON set up a fake sneaker deal to rob victims at gunpoint. During the robbery, BROWN-WILSON shot one 28-year-old victim in the leg.

On June 7, 2023, a search warrant was executed by members of the NYPD on KING’s apartment. Officers recovered fentanyl, crack cocaine, and a loaded firearm used in the January 29th shootings. On June 10, 2023, a search warrant was also executed on BROWN-WILSON’s home and officers recovered three loaded firearms and clothing worn during a shooting and robbery.

Assistant D.A.s Pierre Griffith of the Violent Criminal Enterprises Unit and Katherine Sullivan are handling the prosecution of the case under the supervision of Assistant D.A. Christopher Prevost (Chief of the Violent Criminal Enterprises Unit) and Executive Assistant D.A. Lisa DelPizzo (Chief of the Trial Division). Investigative Analysts Felix Poley, Rohaan Vaswani, William Engelmayer, Jhon De La Cruz Paulino, former Investigative Analyst Grace Dore, and Assistant D.A. Bradley Barbour (Trial Bureau 60) also assisted with the investigation.

D.A. Bragg thanked the NYPD’s Gun Violence Suppression Division, 23rd Precinct Detective Squad, Manhattan North Homicide and Shooting Enhancement Team, especially Detectives Keith Figuero and John Comiskey.
