“Christian Diaz has been sentenced to a significant prison term for killing Ahmed Almulaiki, a hardworking deli worker who was supporting his family,” said District Attorney Bragg. “The defendant’s aggressive and threatening behavior escalated to deadly violence, leaving Mr. Almulaiki’s family with immense heartache and grief. International jewel thief, also charged on LI, sentenced for stealing diamonds in Manhattan, DA says 
An international jewelry thief who pleaded guilty to stealing $260,000 worth of diamonds from two luxury Manhattan stores and was charged with stealing a $17,000 watch from a Manhasset store was sentenced to three to nine years in state prison, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office said.

These objects were seized pursuant to multiple ongoing investigations into looting during World War II and trafficking networks targeting Italian cultural heritage.
Convicted con-man who tried to pull racist stunt accused in new $250,000 tax prep scam 
A convicted con-man has been accused by the Manhattan district attorney’s office of running a new scam. Jon Girodes was accused of stealing $250,000 from unsuspecting victims in a tax preparation scam. It comes after he was running for a state senate seat in Harlem in 2016, then went to prison for a rental fraud. Sarah Wallace reports.
