A Georgia man who allegedly left an inoperable chemical weapon outside a Manhattan police precinct has been indicted in New York, an incident that helped authorities solve a two-year-old murder in his home state, prosecutors said Tuesday.

An investigation into an “inoperable chemical weapon” placed at the entrance of an NYPD precinct in Manhattan eventually led to a 20-year-old man's indictment for a cold case homicide in Georgia, prosecutors said Tuesday.

“We have no tolerance for anyone who threatens or puts members of law enforcement in harm’s way. The defendant’s actions against the NYPD are unacceptable and we will continue to pursue accountability in this matter. I want to thank the NYPD and our law enforcement partners in Georgia for an outstanding and collaborative investigation that has led to significant charges both states,” said District Attorney Bragg.
Apartment Rental Scammer Indicted 
On Oct. 1, D.A. Alvin Bragg announced the indictment of Juan Valoy, 46, for allegedly stealing approximately $25,000 from three victims through an apartment rental scam. Valoy is charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment with one count each of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Scheme to Defraud in the First Degree.
