‘Village Interagency Task Force’ aims to tackle drug use, homelessness at Washington Square Park and nearby blocks 
Mayor Eric Adams and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg unveiled the newly formed “Village Interagency Task Force,” a bold initiative to tackle rampant drug use, homelessness and other societal woes in the Greenwich Village and West Village neighborhoods, including Washington Square Park.

“Ryan Cato tortured 10-year-old Ayden Wolfe for months before beating him to death within an unimaginably horrific 24 hours. The evidence shown to the jury proved the utterly depraved nature of Ayden’s murder, including extensive internal and external injuries that no one, let alone a child, should suffer,” Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said in a statement.
Man charged with hate crimes for threats against New York synagogue 
“Luis Ramirez allegedly made extremely disturbing and serious threats against Central Synagogue, and we have absolutely no tolerance for this conduct,” Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg says in a statement. “He is now charged with significant terrorism and hate crimes charges and was remanded into custody. Any form of antisemitism is despicable, and I want Manhattan’s Jewish community to know we are remaining extremely vigilant.”

"As alleged, Sean Mescall posed as a fake attorney to take advantage of clients who relied on him for what they thought was legitimate legal assistance,” said D.A. Bragg. “The defendant allegedly exploited victims who entrusted him by stealing their hard-earned money for a wide range of supposed legal services. This is an ongoing investigation. "As alleged, Sean Mescall posed as a fake attorney to take advantage of clients who relied on him for what they thought was legitimate legal assistance," District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg Jr. said in a statement from the DA's office.
New York City man convicted in beating death of 10-year-old boy in 2021 
Ryan Cato was found guilty of murder in the second degree by a jury that had been deliberating for about a day, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office said. His trial in a Manhattan court had started in late January.
