A Harlem man has been indicted on four felony weapons charges after he sold illegal firearms – including an assault weapon – to an undercover NYPD officer over about six months this year, prosecutors announced on Tuesday.

As alleged, these defendants flagrantly lied and issued worthless insurance policies from their off-shore company while pocketing thousands in premiums and fees. I thank our partners at Port Authority’s Office of the Inspector General for their partnership in rooting out fraud and protecting New Yorkers.”

“As someone who grew up in Harlem myself, I know firsthand the importance of keeping young people engaged and busy during the summer months. I am thrilled to announce up to $300,000 in funding for summer youth gun violence prevention, building on the success of the past three years of this initiative,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Driving down gun violence is my top priority, and with shootings down 48 percent since I took office, we are building on that progress. Prevention initiatives are one key way we’re doing that, alongside focused prosecutions in areas of concentrated violence and traditional law enforcement methods.
