A 23-year-old man has been indicted on second-degree murder charges after he fatally stabbed his 65-year-old step grandfather, dismembered and wrapped up his body parts in a suitcase before putting them in the East River last month.

Lower East Side man indicted for brutal killing, dismembering of roommate 
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said Christian Millet, 23, fatally stabbed Edwin Echevarria, 65, with a homemade ice pick. Bragg said Millet lived with Echevarria — who was Millet's grandmother’s ex-boyfriend — and attacked him while he was on the phone.
