D.A. Bragg: Head “Grinch” Who Led ID Theft Operation That Stole Credit Cards, Phones From Clubgoers Convicted At Trial
“As the leader of the ‘Grinchsters’, Julian Pomales specifically sought out and targeted intoxicated New Yorkers enjoying our borough’s vibrant nightlife,” said District Attorney Bragg. “As illustrated by the variety of cases brought by my Office’s Financial Frauds, Major Economic Crimes, and Cyber Crime Bureaus, identity theft affects New Yorkers of all walks of life. It is one of the most common crimes we see, targeting anyone with a bank account and, increasingly, with a cell phone. I urge New Yorkers to stay vigilant by using strong passwords, monitoring their accounts and reporting suspicious activity. We are here to help: call us at 212-335-8900 if you are a Manhattanite who has been a victim of identity theft or other fraud.”
D.A. Bragg Announces Sentencing In Stabbing Of Building Maintenance Employee During Wellness Check
“Cirus Cid-Mejia brutally stabbed a building maintenance employee who was assisting social workers in a court ordered wellness check on a 61-year-old tenant,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These workers were only trying to do their jobs and assist in the protection of a vulnerable New Yorker. We will not stand by when hardworking Manhattanites are attacked. I hope the victim continues to heal from the assault.”
D.A. Bragg Announces Indictment Of Abderanman Mayo For Assaulting 70-Year-Old Victim On The Subway Platform
“Nobody should have to experience this type of alleged vicious attack on the transit system,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I hope the victim will continue to recover from his injuries and urge anyone who witnessed this assault to please call 212-335-9040.”
D.A. Bragg, Mayor Adams, And P.C. Tisch: 16 Defendants Charged In Murder Conspiracy For 21 Shooting Incidents
“These defendants allegedly committed months of reckless gun violence that terrorized their neighborhoods and communities. We have absolutely no tolerance for this pervasive, indiscriminate gun violence, which jeopardized the lives of many innocent bystanders. These indictments are necessary for public safety, but they alone are not enough. We will continue to work with our community partners and elected officials to make investments in youth who are at risk of gun violence so we can stop these patterns of violence before they occur. That dual strategy is how we have been able to significantly reduce shootings in Manhattan by 45% over the past three years, but there is still a lot more work to be done,” said District Attorney Bragg.
D.A. Bragg Announces Murder Charges Against Father, Son For Acting In Concert To Kill Mother’s Boyfriend
“As alleged, this father-son duo murdered David Brown in his own home,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Disturbingly, Mr. Brown’s girlfriend – the mother of one of the accused – allegedly helped by tampering with evidence and hindering the prosecution of this case. We will seek full accountability for this terrible act of gun violence.”
D.A. Bragg Announces Indictment Of Luis Ortega For Robbing And Assaulting Harlem Funeral Home Director

The victim in this case provides vital support for people who are often facing immense tragedies, and I hope he can continue to recover from his injuries,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I encourage any members of the public who have additional information about this incident to call 212-690-6315.”
