Test Every Kit: Results from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s Sexual Assault Kit Backlog Elimination Grant Program Click For More

The jurisdictions funded under the Manhattan District Attorney’s Sexual Assault Kit Backlog Elimination Grant Program have seen tremendous results. Over the duration of the program, 32 jurisdictions across 20 states sent over 55,000 backlogged kits for testing.

In Manhattan, major crime is down in nearly every category compared to last year. And so far this year Manhattan had ZERO homicides, a first since 2018!

Murders and shootings continue to decline to pre-pandemic levels. There is always more work to do, but along with our partners at the NYPD we are continuing our efforts to reduce gun violence and keep our borough safe.
