Indictment of Joseph LoGiudice Follows Earlier Charges Against Liberation Psychotherapy Therapist Remington Yhap

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., today announced the indictment of JOSEPH LOGIUDICE, the founder and clinical director of Liberation Psychotherapy, for sexually assaulting two patients in his care on multiple occasions between November 2022 and January 2026. LOGIUDICE is charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment with ten counts of Criminal Sexual Act in the Third Degree, thirteen counts of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree, and one count of Rape in the Third Degree. Today’s announcement follows the earlier indictment of Liberation Psychotherapy therapist REMINGTON YHAP, for allegedly raping a teenage patient during a therapy session after engaging in a several-months-long course of sexual misconduct. One of the survivors in today’s indictment against LOGIUDICE reported LOGUIDICE’s separate alleged abuse to the District Attorney’s Office after learning of the allegations against Yhap.

“Liberation Psychotherapy’s clinical director, Joseph LoGiudice, allegedly sexually assaulted two patients in his care at the very practice he founded,” said District Attorney Bragg. “While expressly described as an LGBTQ-centered practice, we allege that LoGiudice abused the trust placed in him as a therapist to sexually assault members of the LGBTQ community he serves. This investigation is ongoing. If you have been subjected to abuse, please call our Special Victims Division at 212-335-9373.”

As alleged in court documents and statements made on the record in court, LOGIUDICE is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who founded Liberation Psychotherapy, a private LGBTQ-centered group where he is also the Clinical Director. He serves as a private therapist, and at times, as the leader of the Gay Men’s Therapy Group.

As alleged, the first survivor joined LOGIUDICE’s group therapy sessions in Fall 2022. On two occasions after group therapy in November 2022, LOGIUDICE engaged in sexual misconduct with the patient before sexually assaulting him in LOGIUDICE’s office.

As further alleged, in Fall 2022, a second survivor began attending private and group therapy sessions with LOGIUDICE, who frequently made inappropriate, sexual comments. In January 2024, LOGIUDICE sexually assaulted the survivor in his office after a group therapy session, and in January 2026 – after sending the survivor multiple sexual Instagram messages – LOGIUDICE sexually assaulted him during a private therapy session.

Both survivors were severely impacted by this conduct and eventually left the practice.
