Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg said: “Donovan Murphy brutally raped a nurse who was just trying to get some sleep between her shifts at the hospital. A jury found that he broke into her apartment, beat her until he fractured her skull and split open her mouth, and then raped her. I thank the survivor for her fortitude and bravery taking the stand, and the members of the jury for their careful consideration of this case.”

“Two New Yorkers were riding their bikes to deliver food when they were struck by an SUV moving at an extremely high rate of speed. As alleged, Kevin Crosby’s fatal conduct cut Zacarias Darly’s life short, and critically injured the second cyclist,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Our streets should be safe for cyclists, and we will prosecute drivers whose dangerous driving harms New Yorkers. My thoughts are with Mr. Darly’s loved ones who are mourning his loss, as well as the second cyclist who is recovering.”

He used such force that he killed Richard Williams, an 83-year-old veteran,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I hope the survivor continues to heal from this abhorrent assault, and my thoughts are with the loved ones of Mr. Williams who are mourning his tragic loss. Those who use violence in our bustling transit system will be prosecuted.”

“As alleged, Jake Udeh used his supervisory role at the Department of Buildings to help his co-conspirators leapfrog those abiding by the rules for as little as $500 a project,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Over the course of the alleged conspiracy, those cash bribes combined with international travel costs totaled more than $75,000. DOB plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of the more than 1 million buildings and construction sites in New York City. Together with our partners at the Department of Investigation, we root out fraud that undermines this mission and rewards bad actors.”
