D.A. Bragg Announces Trial Conviction Of Harvey Weinstein Click For More

Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg, Jr., today announced the trial conviction of HARVEY WEINSTEIN for sexually assaulting Miriam Haley in 2006. On June 11, 2025, a New York State Supreme Court jury found WEINSTEIN guilty of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree. A mistrial was declared pertaining to the count of Rape in the Third Degree; that matter remains open and pending. WEINSTEIN was acquitted of a third alleged sex assault.

“A jury of his peers found Christian Torres guilty of violently assaulting a 91-year-old man who was walking home with groceries in an unprovoked attack,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I hope this conviction sends a message that those who assault older New Yorkers will be held accountable. I thank the jury for its service, and our prosecutors for their hard work securing this all-count conviction.”

Ms. Mette, affectionately known as Momma Zee, was a staple of the Harlem community, and her death is an absolute tragedy,” said District Attorney Bragg. “My heart goes out to her many loved ones who are mourning her devastating loss. New Yorkers should be able to walk in their neighborhoods without fearing for their lives, and we will hold accountable those who harm New Yorkers through gun violence.”
