D.A. Bragg Announces Indictment of Three Health and Hospital Officers In Assault Incident
“A man who went into Bellevue Hospital was allegedly assaulted and left on the street. Furthermore, some of the defendants allegedly attempted to deny and conceal the use of force to evade accountability,” said District Attorney Bragg. “All New Yorkers must be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their needs, especially by the people who are supposed to protect and keep them safe.”
D.A. Bragg Announces Sentencing of Jeffrey Harris For Recklessly Killing His Wife, Tammy Harris
“Jeffrey Harris betrayed his duty as a physician and as a husband by ignoring all medical evidence and advice and experimenting on his wife, leading to her slow and painful death,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Dr. Harris prevented his wife, Tammy, from being treated for lupus, and instead filled her with unnecessary prescription medications and herbal supplements that exacerbated her symptoms and left her in excruciating pain. He moved from one diagnosis to the next, finally falsifying mercury poisoning and giving her such high doses of selenium that he eventually killed her with his reckless treatment. My heart goes out to her loved ones, and in particular her children, who were pulled into Dr. Harris’s machinations. I hope they have some sense of resolution as this final chapter closes.”

The cases are a team effort and I am extremely grateful to each of the analysts and prosecutors in my Office who put in tireless work to bring these pieces home. We will continue to aggressively investigate those who are using Manhattan as a base to traffic stolen antiquities,” said District Attorney Bragg.

District Attorney Bragg said, “DNA is a powerful tool to solve cold cases and secure justice for survivors even decades after a crime takes place. Alongside our partners in law enforcement, we never give up on seeking accountability – particularly for such horrific and violent allegations as these. I thank the Bronx D.A.’s Office and the NYPD, as well as the prosecutors in my office, for pursuing answers with such determination while centering survivors throughout.”

"Brandon Elliot brutally and repeatedly assaulted a 65-year-old mother in a hate-fueled attack that shook our city," said District Attorney Bragg. "Everyone deserves to be safe and know they belong here, regardless of who they are. Anyone who commits acts of violence driven by hate will be prosecuted. D.A. Bragg Announces Prison Sentences In Multi-Million Dollar Insurance Fraud; Returns $7.75M to NYSIF
“These business owners exploited their workers – primarily undocumented, vulnerable New Yorkers – by devaluing their payrolls and scheming to avoid insurance premiums,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Moreover, Steven Lyon abused his role as a Certified Public Accountant, casting aside his fiscal duties at the expense of workers performing dangerous jobs. Thanks to the attorneys in my office and our many law enforcement partners, we returned $7,750,000 to the New York State Insurance Fund through this prosecution.”
