D.A. Bragg: Babysitter Sentenced To 12 Years In Prison For Sexually Assaulting Child In His Care

“Thanks to the bravery of this young survivor who came forward, we were able to hold Jonathan Luna accountable for his horrific crime,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Based on the charged individual’s employment history working with children in afterschool programs and summer camps, we are deeply concerned that there may be additional victims. If your child may have had contact with this individual, I urge you to contact my Office’s Child Abuse Unit by calling (212) 335-4308.”

D.A. Bragg: Husband, Wife Sentenced To Combined 24 Years In Prison For Sex Trafficking Operation

“Kareem and Sharice Mitchell preyed on young New Yorkers, including two entrusted to their care,” said District Attorney Bragg. “The vulnerabilities exploited by the Mitchells – youth, homelessness, isolation – are common among trafficking survivors. Those same vulnerabilities often prevent survivors from coming forward to law enforcement. I call on the legislature to confront the realities of sex trafficking in New York State: help us dismantle operations like these by eliminating the criminal statute of limitations.”
