A purported construction safety training school issued certificates and cards to nearly 20,000 workers over three and a half years, including one that ultimately lost his life on the job.
A Brooklyn company was indicted Wednesday for running a fake construction safety school that was connected to the death of a worker on the Upper West Side in 2022, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.
Six executives and employees of a construction worker training firm were nailed in an indictment for allegedly doling out sham certificates, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced Wednesday.
A company and six of its executives were charged Wednesday in New York with allegedly operating a sham safety school that said it certified thousands of construction workers as properly trained when, in fact, it had not, prosecutors say.
