Surveillance video captured every step of a Brooklyn man who cold-bloodedly shot dead his ex after she left her job at a Union Square restaurant, prosecutors said Thursday.
Clarkson Wilson, 44, of Brownsville, pleaded not guilty to an indictment on murder and weapons possession charges in the slaying of Imani Armstrong near the IHOP restaurant at an arraignment hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court.
“As alleged, Clarkson Wilson murdered Imani Armstrong in cold blood after he waited hours outside her place of employment,” said D.A. Bragg. “My thoughts are with Ms. Armstrong’s family and loved ones, who are experiencing immense pain. We are committed to pursuing full accountability and justice in this case.”
The man charged with fatally striking “Gone Girl” actor Lisa Banes with an electric scooter last year pleaded guilty to manslaughter Wednesday and is expected to be sentenced to one to three years in prison.
“Brian Boyd drove recklessly with no regard for pedestrians, fatally striking a beloved actress and New Yorker before speeding off to avoid accountability,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Lisa Banes will be remembered for her contributions to the rich fabric of New York City through her roles on screen and on Broadway. I offer her friends, family, and the many who loved her during her decades-long career, my deepest condolences.”
“This stunning coffin was trafficked by a well-organized network that has looted countless antiquities from the region,” said District Attorney Bragg. “We are pleased that this object will be returned to Egypt, where it rightfully belongs.”
