D.A. Bragg Announces Trial Conviction In Child Sex Assault, Stranger Rape On Randall’s Island

“Terence Banks was convicted by a jury of violently sexually assaulting a child and brutally raping a young woman just two weeks apart, turning two summer days on Randall’s Island into the scene of horrific crimes,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Everyone should be able to use our city’s parks exactly as these New Yorkers were – skateboarding and reading – without fear for their safety. I admire the bravery of these survivors for taking the stand and thank the jury for its careful consideration of their testimony and the evidence before them. Retail theft busted in New York; the crime group opened a store in Manhattan to fence a million dollars of stolen goods.

District Attorney Alvin Bragg said that retail theft is a “scourge” that severely impacts local small businesses and jeopardizes the safety of employees and customers, therefore [subject unclear] used “every possible tool” to address this current common situation of selling stolen goods. Law enforcement records showed that DA investigators have collected evidence through means of field surveillance, covert purchasing and conducting scans on stolen goods, and the search warrant was issued and executed on January 17 this year.
