Four people were indicted for allegedly forcing a 14-year-old girl into selling her body for sex in New York City, Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg announced on Thursday.
The city’s “worst landlord,” Daniel Ohebshalom, was indicted Wednesday for allegedly harassing his rent-regulated tenants living in “horrific conditions,” officials said.
A Manhattan woman who fantasized about murdering someone — and then killed her 70-year-old neighbor — in a 2018 bloodbath has been sentenced to 20 years to life in state prison, prosecutors announced Thursday.
“As alleged, these individuals targeted a 14-year-old who frequently ran away from home, abusing her and profiting off of her,” said District Attorney Bragg. “The child’s age is exceedingly common in human trafficking cases and illustrates why my office is fighting to eliminate the statute of limitations for sex trafficking. This young girl has been put through an unimaginably terrible ordeal, and it is no wonder why it might take survivors more than a very narrow five years to come forward.”
The Big Apple’s so-called “worst landlord” Daniel Ohebshalom has been indicted for allegedly harassing rent-regulated tenants with “unlivable” conditions to drive them out of units so he could sell the buildings to make a buck, prosecutors said.
