A Manhattan teen was sentenced to 15 years in prison Wednesday for shooting a woman in the eye through the peephole of her apartment – in what prosecutors said was one of the “worst of the worst cases” they’ve seen.
“Antjuan Smith’s actions were calculated and posed a threat to the victim’s children,” said District Attorney Bragg. “This is an extremely serious matter that has forever altered her life through the loss of eyesight. We will not allow guns to be used to terrorize innocent New Yorkers who are simply trying to go about their lives and care for their children.”
“Daniel Penny stands indicted for Manslaughter after allegedly putting Jordan Neely in a deadly chokehold for several minutes until and after he stopped moving. I hope Mr. Neely’s loved ones are on the path towards healing as they continue to mourn this tragic loss,” said District Attorney Bragg.
