NEW YORK (PIX11) — A young woman says her life was shattered after she was nearly raped while sunbathing in Central Park two years ago.
A creep who tried to rape a Central Park sunbather was slapped with a 13-year prison sentence Tuesday as the resilient victim recalled how the attack tore her “from spaces in the city I used to love.”
D.A. Bragg said: “Not only did Anthony Rosa ignore repeated warnings of the dangers associated with fentanyl use around children, he harassed concerned ACS workers and fought against their protocols and precautions every step of the way. By doing so, his recklessness directly caused the death of his two-year-old son, Charlie. I thank my Office’s Child Abuse Bureau for its pursuit of justice for Charlie.”
“Carlos Santiago allegedly approached a Police Officer with a large knife after threatening employees at a grocery store,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Members of the NYPD put their lives on the line every day to protect New Yorkers, and we will prosecute those who jeopardize their safety.”
“Jermaine Longmire is facing significant time in state prison for attempting to rape a woman who was trying to enjoy her day off in Central Park. New Yorkers and visitors alike deserve to feel safe in Manhattan’s parks,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I want to thank the survivor for bravely testifying in this trial. I hope this sentencing can offer a sense of closure as she continues to heal from this traumatic assault.”
