The founder of a LGBTQ+ therapy practice in Manhattan is facing sexual abuse and rape charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted two of his patients.
A therapist who ran a Manhattan practice catering to gay men was arrested for sexually assaulting two “vulnerable” patients, prosecutors said Thursday.
The QR codes were fraudulent, the Manhattan district attorney said. So was the website that the QR codes connected drivers’ cellphones to.
The suspect believed to have put fraudulent QR codes on New York City parking meters in order to allegedly steal personal information was indicted on identity theft and impersonation charges, according to the district attorney.
“Liberation Psychotherapy’s clinical director, Joseph LoGiudice, allegedly sexually assaulted two patients in his care at the very practice he founded,” said District Attorney Bragg. “While expressly described as an LGBTQ-centered practice, we allege that LoGiudice abused the trust placed in him as a therapist to sexually assault members of the LGBTQ community he serves. This investigation is ongoing. If you have been subjected to abuse, please call our Special Victims Division at 212-335-9373.”
