A man who the Police Department described as a leader of a gang that perpetrated a series of robberies and killings at Manhattan gay bars has been arrested, law enforcement officials said on Tuesday.
An arraignment was set for Tuesday afternoon for a third suspect in a series of druggings and robberies of men in Hell’s Kitchen, including some that turned deadly.
A third suspect wanted in connection to the drugging deaths of two men in Manhattan after a night out is under arrest and was arraigned on Tuesday.
“Our entire city continues to mourn the tragic losses of Mr. Ramirez and Mr. Umberger,” said District Attorney Bragg. “In addition to the pain their deaths have caused for their family and loved ones, I know that many other New Yorkers have feared for their own safety when going out to meet up with friends. I am grateful to our professional and dedicated team for their hard work, along with the detectives at the NYPD who were outstanding partners throughout this entire investigation. A man previously convicted of stalking and groping a woman will serve more time in prison for raping and stalking another victim, Manhattan prosecutors announced Wednesday.
