D.A. Bragg, State of Saxony Announce International Law Enforcement Partnership

District Attorney Bragg said: “Global cooperation is key to our shared fight against far-right extremism and terrorism. Modern crimes do not stop at national borders, so neither do our law enforcement collaborations. I’d like to thank the Attorney General’s Office for its strong partnership and look forward to welcoming its prosecutors to Manhattan.”

Man Accused of Murdering Mom of 3 in Manhattan Apartment — While Kids Were Home

A 36-year-old man has been indicted for allegedly murdering the mother of his children in her Manhattan apartment — while the kids were home — in a harrowing gun case last month, prosecutors say. Carmelo Castillo lived with the victim, 32-year-old Marisol Duran, their two children and Duran’s third child by another individual in an East Harlem apartment, court documents say. She recently told Castillo she didn’t want him there anymore, according to prosecutors, and that she wanted him to leave.

Pot shop armed ‘robbers’ get burned; Indicted in string of hold-ups

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg last week announced the indictment of three Brooklyn men in their 20s for a series of armed robberies at Manhattan smoke shops. “As alleged, these defendants robbed several Manhattan smoke shops and threatened the lives of hardworking store clerks,” Bragg stated. “We will continue to stand up for the safety of our workers and will not allow smoke shops to become magnets for violent crime.” According to court documents and statements made on the record, the defendants — all members of the Mac Baller Brims, a subset of the Bloods gang — committed four armed robberies between Dec. 29 and Jan. 13. The stores were in Chelsea, Union Square/Gramercy and Greenwich Village.

D.A. Bragg: Man Indicted for Murdering Marisol Duran At Home In The Presence of Their Children

“I am deeply saddened by the death of Ms. Duran, and for her three children who are now without their mother,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These utterly horrific allegations demonstrate how quickly intimate-partner violence can turn fatal – particularly when there is a gun in the home. Time and again, we see that the most dangerous time in a relationship is when a woman attempts to leave. I urge anyone who needs assistance to contact our office by contacting our Intimate-Partner & Sexual Violence Bureau at 212-335-4308.”
