Good afternoon, Chair Salaam and members of the Committee on Public Safety. Thank you for the opportunity to speak with you today regarding our Office’s Fiscal Year 2025 Preliminary Budget. We thank the City Council for its past support, the other four District Attorneys for their collaboration, and know that a safer and fairer city requires all of us working together.
An Upper East Side man who manufactured ghost guns at his apartment has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison followed by two-and-a-half years of post-release supervision.
“Cory Davis has now been sentenced to prison for manufacturing dangerous ghost guns – which he was able to do from his apartment,” said Bragg. “When someone chooses to build their own firearms, they jeopardize public safety and put their communities at risk. My office will continue to work with our federal, state and city-wide partners to crack down on the proliferation of illegal firearms and drive down shootings and homicides even further.”
