D.A. Bragg Announces 25-To-Life Prison Sentence Of Trevon Murphy For Stabbing Unhoused New Yorkers

“Today, Trevon Murphy is facing accountability for brutally murdering one unhoused individual and critically injuring two others. New Yorkers who face the painful and difficult experience of being unhoused shouldn’t have to simultaneously fear for their safety,” said Manhattan District Attorney Bragg. “While today’s sentence will not bring back an innocent life lost and cannot undo the pain two New Yorkers face, I hope it provides a sense of comfort and closure.” 

D.A. Bragg Announces Indictment For Large-Scale Retail Theft “Fencing” Operation

“Retail theft is a scourge that impacts our local businesses and jeopardizes the safety of employees and customers alike. We must use every tool in our toolbox to address the root causes of retail theft, and a critical piece of that is upstream, proactive investigations into those who stand to profit. In addition to disrupting fencing networks, we will continue to target the small number of recidivists who are driving a significant amount of retail theft and ensure appropriate accountability,” said District Attorney Bragg. 

NYC’s ‘Worst Landlord,’ Daniel Ohebshalom, Is Charged with Tenant Harassment by D.A.

New York City slumlord Daniel Ohebshalom, who is currently jailed on Rikers Island, has been hit with a new set of criminal charges. The indictment, brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in New York State Supreme Court, charges him with harassing rent-regulated tenants, endangering the welfare of a child and filing false records that concealed his ownership of the buildings.
