A New York City man accused of stalking and stabbing a woman 40 times inside her Chinatown apartment in 2022 has pleaded guilty to several charges in connection with the killing, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.
“Alayna Hardy was a young woman who was beloved by her friends and family. Her life was tragically cut short by this chilling and brutal murder by her ex-boyfriend. No family should ever have to experience such a terrible loss and my thoughts are with those who continue to mourn Ms. Hardy. I hope this conviction and sentence sends a clear message that we will always pursue full accountability for anyone who commits this type of horrific violence,” said District Attorney Bragg.
“Today Assamad Nash was held accountable for senselessly taking Christina Yuna Lee’s life after he followed her into her own home,” Bragg said in a statement. “Ms. Yuna Lee’s family and loved ones were deprived of a daughter, sister, and friend. My thoughts are with her family and our community as they continue healing from this tragedy.”
