D.A. Bragg Announces Indictment Of Man In Fatal Fourth Of July Drunk Driving Crash

“As alleged, Daniel Hyden was driving while intoxicated when he plowed through a group of friends and family celebrating the Fourth of July in Corlears Hook Park. This alleged act tragically cut the lives of Lucille Pinkney, Herman Pinkney, Emily Ruiz, and Ana Morel short and severely injured seven others,” said District Attorney Bragg. “My thoughts are with the families of those whose lives were lost, the injured victims, and the tight-knit community, all of whom are reeling from the effects of this horrifying and senseless tragedy.”

“As alleged, Darlin Martinez used a gun to shoot three people, killing Christopher Allen and injuring two others. My Office is actively working to keep New Yorkers safe through both prosecutions of drivers of violence and meaningful investments in our communities,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I thank the NYPD for apprehending Darlin Martinez after this four-year search. My thoughts are with Mr. Allen’s four children and loved ones as they continue to mourn his loss.”
