A New Jersey personal banker pleaded guilty on Wednesday to stealing thousands from a client suffering from dementia, prosecutors announced.
“As alleged, Marvin White assaulted a 77-year-old woman who was walking to Urgent Care in an unprovoked attack, before assaulting the two police officers who responded to her cries for help,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Members of the NYPD risk their safety every day to protect New Yorkers, and I thank them for their partnership in keeping Manhattan safe. I hope the three victims continue to heal from their injuries.”
“Today, Juan Velez is facing accountability for abusing his position as a personal banker to steal from a 79-year-old man suffering from dementia,” said District Attorney Bragg. “We are committed to protecting older New Yorkers from fraudsters who target their well-earned savings.
