Manhattan D.A. Bragg has announced the sentencing of 34-year-old Perin Jacobchuk for his anti-Semitic attack on a 63-year-old Jewish man in Central Park during December 2022.
“Perin Jacobchuk will serve state prison time for committing two, separate, brutal attacks fueled by his prejudices and biases,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These hate crimes left both New Yorkers with physical injuries, which they have thankfully fully recovered from. I hope that the resolution of this case can offer the victims comfort in knowing that Jacobchuk has been held accountable, and I thank our Hate Crimes Unit for their hard work in this case.”
Two teens were indicted for the shooting of a 7-year-old of girl outside of a Starbucks in Harlem last month, District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced.
Two teenagers were charged on Monday for shooting a 7-year-old girl in Harlem in November, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said.
“As alleged, Daniel Idowu and True Womack callously shot at individuals on a crowded Manhattan sidewalk, seriously injuring a 7-year-old innocent bystander,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Thankfully, the child lived and brave police officers were able to act quickly to apprehend these defendants and prevent them from causing further harm. Children are among our most vulnerable New Yorkers and deserve to be safe from the very real, oftentimes deadly, consequences of gun violence. In Manhattan we will continue holding accountable those who commit these violent acts. I wish the victim a speedy recovery.”
