A man has been indicted in connection with the choking death of a 23-year-old woman outside of a hotel in Midtown on Oct. 29, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office said. Jaheem Warren, 33, has been charged with one count of murder in the second degree, assault and strangulation.
Jaheem Warren, 33, was arraigned on an indictment Wednesday for allegedly ambushing and killing 23-year-old Leslie Warren in front of the RIU Plaza New York Times Square Hotel on West 46th Street near Eighth Avenue the early morning of Oct. 29.
“I don’t know why people are being assaulted in all instances,” Bragg said. “What I can say is that we are bringing charges when it happens. We are holding people who are accountable who are doing that.”
As New York stores face stubbornly high rates of retail theft, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is urging more of the borough’s businesses to make use of a tool that can let authorities beef up charges against people accused of stealing.
