A Brooklyn man was indicted Thursday for allegedly wounding two people in an unprovoked slashing spree at the Grand Central subway station on Christmas Eve.
A man who shouted “F— these people!” before allegedly stabbing two commuters at Grand Central Station on Christmas Eve has been charged with attempted murder.
“Zymir Humphrey shot and killed Brandon Atkinson in a cruel and vicious act of gun violence,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Senseless cycles of retribution continue to fuel gun violence that destabilizes our communities and, far too often, results in the deaths of young New Yorkers. As Manhattan district attorney, tackling gun violence remains my top priority and we will continue working with our partners to trend the number of shootings and murders downward and remove dangerous, illegal firearms off our streets.”
Jaia Cruz, 24, was arrested shortly after the stabbing inside the deli at 168 Lenox Ave. around 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 2.
According to court documents, 28-year-old Jason Sargeant began his terror spree on the 4, 5, and 6 train platform inside of Grand Central Station at around 10:10 p.m. on Dec. 24, 2024. He allegedly began ranting and raving while brandishing a knife, sending commuters fleeing.
