NEW YORK (PIX11) – A home health aide stole $24,000 from two ‘older’ New York City residents under her care, according to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Staten Island man, 28, sentenced to prison in fatal stabbing of Manhattan deli worker in street fight
A Tottenville man is headed to prison in the 2021 stabbing death of a Manhattan deli worker. Christian Diaz, 28, of Brighton Street, was sentenced Thursday to 20 years upstate, after he was found guilty by a jury in August of first-degree manslaughter.
Nan Wu, aka “FireBunny,” was sentenced to a minimum of 6 ½ years in state prison and 5 years of post-release supervision.
Nan Wu, a Queens man who led one of the largest dark web drug trafficking rings ever through a vendor account known as “FireBunny,” was sentenced today to prison after nearly three years of shipping drugs nationwide from Flushing, New York and Upland, California, and laundering $7.2 million through cryptocurrency exchanges. Wu was sentenced to a minimum of 6 ½ years in state prison and 5 years of post-release supervision.

“Jerona Smith used her access as a home health aide to steal from older adults who relied on her for care. Ms. Smith is now facing prison time for her disturbing conduct,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Those who prey on the perceived vulnerability of older New Yorkers will be prosecuted.
