While I am pleased with the significant decrease in shootings and homicides in Manhattan, there are still far too many acts of gun violence. And it goes beyond New York City. “Avery Dunning will serve a prison sentence following his conviction at trial for the callous shooting of a woman, who remains paralyzed and under extensive care,” said District Attorney Bragg. “The victim rightfully contacted law enforcement when she believed she heard violence occurring, and her actions in no way should have been met with violence. My thoughts remain with the victim and her family as they continue to recover from the reeling effects of this horrific act of gun violence.”
