The man charged with “viciously attacking” the manager of Roma Pizza with the help of his pit bull has pleaded guilty, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced Wednesday.
A man was sentenced to five years in state prison for his role in an attack on the owner of Ray’s Candy Store and other attacks in 2023, the Manhattan district attorney said in a statement Wednesday.
A man has pleaded guilty to two counts of assault in a vicious attack on the manager of a Manhattan pizza place last year that put the victim in a coma and saw him mauled by a dog, prosecutors said Wednesday.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg Jr. wrote an op-ed in City and State today calling on the New York State Legislature to pass Bill S8559, sponsored by state Senator Brian Kavanagh and Assembly Member Micah Lasher, which will better protect New Yorkers from tenant harassment.
“Tyshaun Watson is facing accountability for viciously attacking a pizzeria manager. This employee, who was just doing his job, suffered significant injuries and had to be placed in a medically induced coma for two weeks,” said District Attorney Bragg. “No worker should ever have to fear for their safety, and my Office will prosecute those who harm them.”
