“As alleged, Rayna Rampaul stole approximately $132,000 in pay from the NYPD while she worked as a sergeant, a leadership position,” said District Attorney Bragg. “City employees who fraudulently drain the City’s coffers will be held accountable.”
Eight people were indicted this week in New York in connection with what prosecutors describe as a “wide-ranging retail theft ring” that stole nearly $5m worth of goods – from steaks to cheeses to copper wiring and cigarettes.
A sophisticated theft ring used hacked data, fake trucking logs and bogus shipping information to steal nearly $5 million in goods from retailers across the Northeast to sell in New York City, officials said.
Eight people were charged Wednesday in New York for their roles in a retail theft ring that spanned several states and involved several kinds of goods from beef to copper.
