UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A Bronx man has been indicted on homicide charges after prosecutors say he drove drunk the wrong way on the West Side Highway and slammed head-on into an Uber, killing a 65-year-old passenger on the Upper West Side.
“Terrence Haynes has been held accountable and will serve a significant prison sentence for orchestrating the senseless killing of Timothy Parker,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Haynes enlisted and coordinated with his co-defendants to carry out this deadly plot, causing unimaginable pain and grief for Mr. Parker’s family and loved ones. While nothing can bring Mr. Parker back, I hope this sentence brings his family and loved ones a measure of justice as they continue to grieve their loss.”
“These defendants allegedly turned a night of celebration after a Knicks finals win into a scene of chaos, carrying out a series of violent attacks fueled by an ongoing rivalry,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These alleged assaults significantly injured several individuals and jeopardized the safety of countless New Yorkers and police officers during an incredibly busy time in Midtown Manhattan. We will not tolerate this senseless conduct and are working with our law enforcement partners to hold those responsible for this escalating violence accountable. “Robert Koch allegedly crashed into an Uber as he was driving in the wrong direction on the West Side Highway, tragically cutting short the life of the passenger, Ada Rivero,” said District Attorney Bragg. “To anyone who is even considering getting behind the wheel while under the influence, don’t – you will be prosecuted. Driving while intoxicated is not just risky, it is all-too-often deadly. My thoughts are with Ms. Rivero’s loved ones who are mourning her devastating loss.”
