“Today Cory Davis accepted responsibility for manufacturing and possessing firearms,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These weapons are extremely dangerous and had the potential to harm our communities had they fallen into the wrong hands. The proliferation of ghost guns is a serious problem and our prosecutors are thoroughly investigating and bringing forth illegal firearms cases in the interest of public safety.”

“Combatting the proliferation of ghost guns in New York remains one of my office’s top priorities,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Our Ghost Guns Initiative has taken more than 90 ghost gun parts, 70 firearms, 424 high-capacity magazines, and numerous other gear off of our city’s street since its inception. I thank our law enforcement partners for their work on this ongoing investigation.” 

“As alleged, these defendants knowingly and willingly sold dangerous firearms to an undercover officer,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These weapons included ghost guns, assault rifles and semi-automatic pistols – all of which could have inflicted significant violence and harm on our neighborhoods. I thank the NYPD for its partnership and to the officer who put themself in harm’s way to protect Manhattanites. Addressing gun violence and the flow of illegal firearms continues to be my top priority.”  

“This defendant is alleged to have made threats using weapons he easily assembled in his own apartment,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These facts, as alleged, once against demonstrate just how simple and cheap it is for someone to create their own deadly firearms, and the rapid pace of technological advancement is only going to make this process simpler. We must pass our legislation to close the 3D gun manufacturing loophole and stop the spread of digital files to proactively address the continued proliferation of these guns.”

“Technology has made it possible for anyone with a few hundred dollars to create dangerous weapons and firearms in the comfort of their own home. The ease at which people can create guns and gun parts poses a direct threat to the safety of our communities, which is why we are taking action to close these loopholes and strengthen the penalties on the books,” said District Attorney Bragg.
