“As alleged, these defendants helped fuel the fentanyl crisis engulfing our city and brought dangerous firearms into our communities,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Furthermore, all of the conduct in this indictment was occurring right where thousands of Manhattanites call home. Public housing residents deserve the same safety and security as everyone else, and we will crackdown on anyone who uses these complexes as a base for dangerous criminal activity.”

“Gun violence is unacceptable in any form, but the alleged actions of these defendants put the lives of a father, his young child and an NYPD officer serving our city at risk,” said  District Attorney Bragg. “Everyone deserves to enjoy the scenic and historic views of the Upper West Side and Riverside Park safely and we will not tolerate this type of violence anywhere in Manhattan.”

“This indictment makes clear that ghost guns continue to proliferate in our city due to their accessibility and low cost,” said District Attorney Bragg. “This alleged ghost gun factory posed a serious threat to public safety, and I thank our prosecutors and law enforcement partners for their excellent work in preventing any harm coming from these weapons.” 

“The horrific shooting of Tykeem Berry so close to his young daughter shocked the Inwood community,” said District Attorney Bragg. “As alleged, Joseph Morros opened fire just outside of a busy bodega, putting the lives of his fellow New Yorkers at risk, and killing Mr. Berry. The immense toll of this shooting exemplifies why combatting gun violence and reducing the number of illegal guns on our streets remains my top priority.”
