“This defendant allegedly careened through packed sidewalks and streets during the busiest time of the year in midtown. His recklessness endangered the lives of countless New Yorkers and visitors who were ringing in the New Year,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I hope the victims can fully recover from their injuries and thank the police officers who were on the scene to apprehend this individual.”

“Because of Hamza Salman’s recklessness, a New York City cabdriver experiences constant pain as he works to make a living. We will not tolerate dangerous drivers who put the lives of others at risk, and today’s guilty plea makes clear that we will continue to treat traffic violence with the seriousness it deserves. Safe streets are essential for holistic and lasting public safety in our neighborhoods,” said District Attorney Bragg. 

“Today’s guilty plea ensures there will be significant accountability for this fatal hit and run. Reckless driving continues to be a scourge on our streets, and far too many families like Ms. Gray’s are mourning the loss of loved ones who have been killed by dangerous drivers. We will continue to treat traffic violence with the seriousness it requires,” said District Attorney Bragg. 

“When our highways and streets turn into playgrounds for cars, it leads to tragedy,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These defendants displayed extreme recklessness and negligence when they allegedly raced down the Henry Hudson Parkway. Now, Mr. Quintana’s six children and all of his loved ones are mourning his painful loss.”  

“Andre Mosby allegedly escalated a confrontation by using his vehicle as battering ram with such force that a man was killed. Vehicular violence takes a significant toll on our communities and families. Nothing can bring back the victim to his family and friends, but my Office pledges to provide appropriate accountability,” said District Attorney Bragg.
