“An 11-year-old has suffered life changing injuries as a result of this defendant’s alleged reckless behavior,” said District Attorney Bragg. “After crashing into another car and causing that car to plow through the front of a crowded restaurant, injuring about 20 people, he immediately fled the scene in an attempt to evade responsibility. We will continue to fully investigate incidents of serious traffic violence and hold irresponsible drivers accountable.”

“As alleged, Salman recklessly careened through midtown streets without regard for the safety of others, and severely injured another driver,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Our cab drivers perform a vital service and deserve the utmost protection, and our thoughts are with the victim as he recovers from these injuries.”

“Despite causing a horrific car crash that led to the death of one individual, Jason Clotter allegedly immediately fled New York to avoid prosecution. Today’s indictment makes clear that we treat any deaths that result from reckless driving just as seriously as any other form of violence,” said District Attorney Bragg.

“As alleged, this reckless speeding and driving ended in tragedy,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Manhattanites should not be killed by drivers when they are simply walking in their neighborhood. We will continue to protect the safety of pedestrians and drivers on our streets.”

“Brian Boyd drove recklessly with no regard for pedestrians, fatally striking a beloved actress and New Yorker before speeding off to avoid accountability,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Lisa Banes will be remembered for her contributions to the rich fabric of New York City through her roles on screen and on Broadway. I offer her friends, family, and the many who loved her during her decades-long career, my deepest condolences.”
